Two stores, one e-shop and three truths about your stock
The seller at your first store promises an item that just went online. The e-shop shows a reference available that was sold three days ago. Restocking is decided on a whim, because no one really knows what’s moving. And at the end of the month, the cash register, stock, and accounting don’t tell the same story.
It’s almost never a cash register software problem. It’s that the cash register, inventory, online store, and accounting are four systems that synchronize once a night, when they synchronize.
From the counter to the online store, one system
Odoo offers a suite of modules designed to cover the essential needs of retail businesses. Among the most used is the Point of Sale to structure customer relationships, the Accounting to manage finances and the module Project to organize work and track the profitability of activities.
Cash in without error
Optimize the management of your sales transactions with the application Odoo Point of Sale.
Touch interface, barcode scanning, discounts, returns, and credits from the register. Each cash transaction decrements stock and generates the accounting entry. The Z report no longer needs to be re-entered in the evening.
Restock according to your actual needs
The application Odoo Inventory optimizes stock management with precision, providing real-time tracking for constant inventory control across multiple sites.
One stock level per store and warehouse, tracked inter-store transfers, restocking rules by reference. You know what is dormant and what is missing in each point of sale.
Sell online
The application Odoo eCommerce supports the creation and management of online stores, integrating online and in-store sales for a unified customer experience.
The online store shares the catalog, prices, and stock of your stores. A web order can be prepared from the stock of the nearest point of sale.
What if the connection drops on a Saturday at 3 PM?
This is the first question a merchant asks, and it is one of the few areas where Odoo has a better answer than pure cloud cash registers. The point of sale continues to operate without a connection: tickets are recorded locally and synchronized when the network returns, including payments. A session can even be closed offline without data loss.
Your hardware, not that of a publisher
Odoo does not lock you into a proprietary ecosystem. The IoT Box acts as a bridge between the cash register and your devices: ticket printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, scale, customer display. On the payment side, market terminals integrate natively, and the same terminal can serve multiple points of sale.
Click and collect, shipping from the store, cross returns
A customer orders online and picks up in-store. A web order comes from the stock of the nearest store rather than the warehouse. An item purchased on the site is returned in-store and refunded on the spot, or credited to an electronic wallet. A seller checks from their register the stock of other points of sale to avoid losing the sale.
These four scenarios have become the norm on the customer side, and they are impossible to manage properly when the cash register and the e-commerce site are two distinct systems. In Odoo, they require no connector, because there is only one database.
Three stores, ten, or a network of franchises
Odoo allows for preconfiguring stores on a common model, supervising their sales, and centralizing inventory and accounting. Specifically: a catalog and pricing policy managed at headquarters, autonomous stocks by point of sale, a consolidation that does not require anyone to send a spreadsheet on Monday morning.
At Nalios, we know this model from the inside: we are ourselves a network of agencies in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, the Caribbean, and the United States. The questions of local autonomy and central management are ones we ask ourselves too.

Promotions, loyalty, and gift cards
Automatic discounts at checkout, offers like two for three, price lists by channel and by customer, points program, gift cards, and electronic wallets usable in-store as well as online.
The interest is not in the promotional mechanics, which all cash register software can handle. It is to measure what the promotion actually cost in margin, reference by reference, because the cash register and accounting are in the same system.
The five figures a store manager looks at on Monday
When you choose a Retail ERP system for your retail business, it is essential that the tool you choose can perfectly track your indicators like these:
Odoo or a specialized cash register software?
We regularly compare Lightspeed, Clictill, RoverCash, and Square during the selection phase. Here’s how we compare Odoo with these software:

Odoo processes payments as quickly as a specialized cash register, and also manages everything that comes after: restocking, purchases, the online store, accounting, payroll. A dedicated software will save you a few days at startup, then leave you with four systems to connect the day you open a second store. Odoo requires a bit more ambition at the start, and it is the only tool that still follows when you have three.

A wine business fully under control
Winetime sells to professionals and individuals, two activities that have neither the same prices, nor the same stock rules, nor the same billing. Selling 500,000 bottles from Nieuwport requires a visibility that no spreadsheet provides. They achieved it with Odoo and Nalios.
